42.  RUNNER BEAN SNOWSTORM
Runner Bean ‘Snowstorm’ is a modern, British-bred variety (Phaseolus coccineus) known for its white flowers and enhanced flavor. It is self-fertile, leading to higher yields even in less favorable weather conditions.   The plants are vigorous climbers, reaching up to 3 meters (10 feet) tall by mid-summer, making them ideal for trellises and screens.   The pods are long, straight, and smooth, remaining stringless if harvested at 20-25 cm (8-10 inches) but can grow up to 30 cm (12 inches) if left to mature.   This variety has been recognized with the Royal Horticultural Society’s Award of Garden Merit, reflecting its exceptional performance.   ‘Snowstorm’ thrives in full sun and well-drained, fertile soil with a pH of 6.0, making it suitable for various garden settings, including balconies and trellises.
