349. LANGE AERMER
The Lange Ærmer tomato is an indeterminate, paste-type variety developed by breeder Tom Wagner. This unique tomato produces elongated, cylindrical fruits with a pointed tip, typically weighing around 100 grams each. When mature, the fruits exhibit a pale green color with dark green speckles, transitioning to an amber hue as they ripen.   The flesh is dense, meaty, and contains few seeds, offering a sweet, fresh, and slightly spicy flavor reminiscent of the ‘Green Zebra’ variety.   The plants are vigorous, reaching heights of approximately 2 meters, and feature wispy, dark green foliage. Lange Ærmer tomatoes are versatile in culinary applications, suitable for fresh salads, sauces, and cooking, and are known for their crack resistance and good post-harvest shelf life.
