MURUNGAI FRENCH BEAN – A UNIQUE HEIRLOOM TREASURE
I collected these seeds from my farm in Kodaikanal, Tamil Nadu, India.
Although it belongs to the French bean family, this variety is quite unusual. The pods are exceptionally long, thick, and fleshy compared to regular French beans. Because the pods resemble the length of a drumstick, it is popularly known as Murungai French Bean (Murungai means drumstick in Tamil).
This vigorous climbing vine is highly productive and yields abundantly throughout the season. In fact, a single plant is often enough to provide a continuous harvest for an entire family.
Easy to grow, productive, and delicious, this is one variety I highly recommend for every home garden.
