The Boxcar Willie tomato is a productive, heirloom variety known for its rich, old-fashioned tomato flavor. It produces medium to large, round, red fruits weighing 10–16 ounces. But our tomato weighs around 26 ounces. The tomatoes have a well-balanced, sweet-tangy taste and are excellent for slicing, canning, and making sauces. This indeterminate variety grows vigorously and is resistant to cracking and disease, making it a reliable choice for home gardeners. It matures in approximately 80 days from transplant.
