479. BERKELEY TIE DYE HEART
The Berkeley Tie-Dye Heart tomato is a unique variety developed by Brad Gates of Wild Boar Farms in California. This indeterminate plant yields medium to large, heart-shaped fruits weighing between 150 to 300 grams. The tomatoes display a striking appearance with a pinkish-purple skin adorned with green streaks, more prominent near the top. Inside, the dense, meaty flesh is dark red with dark green gel, offering an excellent, rich, and complex flavor. The plant is vigorous yet maintains a relatively narrow profile with drooping foliage. It produces consistently from mid-season until the first frost, making it a favorite among gardeners seeking both visual appeal and exceptional taste.
